„Negotiations“ means holding discussions and real efforts to resolve disputes and reach agreement. (c) For all university staff and staff already employed in a current position at USC at the time of approval of this agreement, the package is calculated as follows: (a) the university recognizes service leave credits for previous jobs at another Australian university, the Commonwealth or the State Public Service or a Commonwealth or Statutory State Authority for up to five years.

, provided there is no more than two months break between the independent institution and the university. The University recognizes service time with an independent agency for which the officer was not granted long-term leave and was not paid in lieu of wages, and for which the employment included duties closely related to the duties performed at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
